Kate, try beet root salad, raw grated beetroot, vinaigrette and orange juice dressing. Not sure of quantities, but they used to make at Lower Sizergh Barn near Kendal, delicious.
Haven't seen it there for a while, Ann, perhaps if people ask for it they'll do it again. You can buy rose hip syrup there though, yummy on rice pudding.
Dead heading, staking, tying in climbers. I have taken lavender cuttings, potted on seedlings, thrown away seedlings. Sown verbascum seeds, peas for pea shoots. I am also growing micro greens.
