@daintiness.. yes it is one of the best..thou i must warn you it can get a bit shaky when out on full zoom.. need to hold lense..but still takes a super picture.. still one of the best buys in my view for an easy point and snap..

    nothing beats it.

Gardeningfanatic,, while surfing on amazon found the nikon 510, according to reviews even better with x42 zoom...the neighbours better look out at this rate of going!! I might get a bit too much info...There are some terrific photos on this thread - I love the goldfinches and that caterpillar is mouthwatering (not I'd consider it as an hors d'oeurve) they really insire me to get a decent camera. Interesting, most of the reviews for the nikons I have read have been written by people taking wildlife and bird photos.

This is my feeder arrangement. There's a hanging bird-bath, two seed feeders, and a nut feeder. They are all hanging from a pergola, about 10 meters from my back door. The pergola over the feeders also helps to give protection from predators. All these snaps were taken from inside the house, looking through an open window...

    Nuthatch...

This is the ground beneath the feeders, that ground-feeding birds use...
