  What is the name of the variety-they are probably french -do they shrug shoulders, offer you a baguette?

  Hestia is a dwarf runner bean. Seeds for French beans are smaller than runner bean seeds, I suppose about the size of a baked bean? - runner seeds more butter bean size. What colour are the seeds?

  You are not too late for runners-sowed mine in pots today-this is just about the right time

  @figrat the seeds are a dark purple, the packet says purple flowers.

  Frenchies! I think I prefer them to runners, but grow both every year anyway.

  @figrat I am still trying to find what is the most productive veg for me, if I am going to do this it will need to be worth the effort.

  I do not have any runner seeds how did that happen?
