Steff sounds like you had a good day.

KG  what are you and Geoff doing with your toms? I managed some weeding but too chilly to move any plants on so not a lot to do.

My toms are actually not as far ahead as they normally are.  In fact everything is behind.  I've just been checking my gardening diary and this year the apple blossom is about three weeks behind last year.  The cotoneaster was in full flower by 9th May last year but this year it is nowhere near flowering.

My apple blossom is half open but this time last year I already had baby apples.

I leave for the airport tomorrow afternoon.  Of course I am leaving my security guard and german shepherd on duty in my house image  My dad once said that the only person who would bother to break into my house would be a book lover.  I have nothing else worth taking.  Miserable Paul at work spent twice as much on headphones than I did on my TV.  I've always said that money not spent on the garden is money wasted. image

It is raining image I thought that it was going to be too cold to rain.

    What is Holly wearing??

I will have to start talking to my tomato plants.

Weird day for weather - hale earlier on, then... SUN! And it stayed sunny enough to dry the lawn out enough to mow, which it really needed. Also started digging out the last overgrown bed in the garden which I'm going to use for the courgettes I've got in the coldframe. A productive afternoon image

@Wintersong, thanks for the staking tip, I'll probably try that with the digitalis when they go in.

Also, I went for wander earlier and saw a swan sitting on her eggs, and loads of wild Cowslips. I want some in my garden now.

The river in our town has burst it's banks and the swan has lost it's nest. Every year it sits on the other side of the river, but it had no chance! Hope it manages to make a new nest when the water backs down.
