OMG ighten, you must have read my mind! I like Beechgrove too but feel the same as you. I cannot for the life of me see the"garden" side of it!!  I just felt it was unkind to say so.

Talking about MD's plot, you are right, there is a lot that is at the mercy of the people who have the dosh, and their word goes image

  • jatnikapyar.....yes, you're quite right, Monty does hold his hands up when he messes up.

OL - you are so right about the pretend to be posh people.  I like people to be classy, but my understanding of that is that they are true to who they are and where they came from, and proud of it, and not pretending to be someone else.  I think I am probably omni-class - a little bit of everything, and friends with everyone!

I've been told I speak posh like the Queen, but I'm just normal really. I did have greenhouse envy though, when I saw Monty's new one. image

OL - hell yeah.  If you want to make a woman hate you, go ahead and criticise her children!!  I have done some of that tracing your own history stuff, and depending which line I go down, I am descended from the landed gentry, or from coal miners!  Equally proud of both - well actually..... probably the coal miners a bit more if I'm honest...!

I think Rachel seems very warm and natural, not 'posh' at all.  In fact, all the presenters are good in their own way and I do like to see beautiful gardens, just need an hour which includes hands on gardening too.

I've met Rachel and can say she is 'very warm and natural' and easy to talk to. Also (contrary to some beliefs) she is a well qualified horticulturist.

Sometimes, being rather beautiful can be a disadvantage, because everyone thinks you are only 'there for your looks', and Rachel is an absolute wow in the beautiful department.  I was amazed to discover she is older than I am!!  But she does have a wide knowledge and a proper passion for plants so good on her!!
