The box said light rain here in the NW - not - it's been relentless again this evening.

Too right Zoomer & it's been blowing in from a different direction to normal as we dont usually hear it on our back windows. J.

Don't know about your part of the NW Jo, but the tree's are losing their leaves here, a true sign autumn has arrived. I usually like autumn, there's something calming seeing the change of colour in the landscape but it seems to have happened over night.

  • well yesterday got worse and worse.. by nightfall it was howling a hooley and throwing it down all night.. and today is not much better.. short heavy showers and strong winds..image

Stockton heavy rain says yon tha box, wrong, brilliant sunshine at 07:30 this morning mainly blue sky above with an odd drift of cloud now at 10:00 hours.
Have some bags of bulbs to plant up and may have a look around the nursery up the road, they do have good plants.

Beautiful morning here, the box says Sunny/clear, so they are right!image

Cosmos and other annuals are going on the compost heap today, and I too have got bulbs to plant, mainly in pots as I have loads in the garden already.image

Have a good day whatever you're up to.

I bought some paperwhite last weekend after seeing MD planting them for Xmas, I bet the sales of them have shot up as a resultimage.

I hate the smell of paperwhites! Sorry.

Here in Manchester it's sunny, windy & lots of black clouds around. Hadnt any garden plans for today, bulbs will get done tomorrow.

Zoomer, yes Autumn is here. Am leaving the tomato plants in the greenhouse for a bit longer this year- too much else happening to get round to sorting them- but dont expect much more ripening of fruit, unless we get sun daily for a lot of days!

We now have heating again! Bliss. J.

I'm another one who hates the smell of paperwhites! I do have some bulbs to plant in pots, though - like Jo, the garden is full image

Am wondering how to weight my hyacinths - last year they climbed out of the pot. And no, the soil wasn't compacted, nor were they "screwed" into the surface.

Weather - undecided. Showers this morning, dry at the moment.
