The rain was lashing down so hard at 5am that it woke me up.  Rained solidly all morning - but then dried out a bit.  Raining again now, though!

We've been lucky in West Somerset - other parts of the county have fared a lot worse.  More to come, it would seem.

  • Have been lucky in the Chilterns - chucked it down all morning, but the afternoon was sunny and breezy - perfect for the washing. Red kites didn't like the rain and must have stayed in the woods over the hill. I stuck my head out after lunch and managed to do plenty in the garden, but gave the allotment a miss - nothing to do up there at the moment except watering - and that was done for me thank you!
  • Stockton Heavy rain, it should have said very heavy rain and never stopped all day, the wind was whipping it into the windows and the rain was running down the road, glad I live at the top of the bank.
Zoomer you would not have got through today the main roads were nearly all closed by accidents from early on.

    Frank.

  • And still it rains and still the wind blows but I have a very heart just now as my darling Lydia (pussy cat) passed away 7.30 tonight,  the grief doesn't get any the  easier does it image image

It's rained all day here, at times torrential. Was in Carlisle today Frank, there were  warnings of strong winds on the A66 and is the A69 which goes across the country to the A1? Rain and wind are forecast all week hereimage I took your cue Rain and cut the lawn yesterday instead of potting up bulbs and planted out a lot of biennials grown from seed for next year. One of the veg beds has now become a nursery for flowers.

Rain - Sorry to hear about Lydia, but did you know, this side of heaven is a place called 'Rainbow Bridge', a place where animals go that have been especially close to someone here.

  • Rain, so sorry to hear that, I do know the heart break of losing an animal close to you. They have such a short life span compared with ours yet they are never forgotten.

Rain - that is  a lovely photo, and I understand your grief.  As Frank has said, our pets are so important, and we can never forget them.  Let the memories of the good times soothe you.
