Its nice and sunny now Frank, you should have waited a bit longer, bitter cold though this morning when I got up 3.3c in the garden and only 8.7c now, supposed to get down to -5 through the night now wonder my seeds aren't growing.!
Well weather a bit changeable today, but have seen the sun briefly. A few showers, wind is chilly and I think it's going to be a cold night. Have set some more seeds, onion sets and leeks. All covered over from the cold, pests etc. Wish it would warm up now!!!!
I've woken up to a very wet and dismal day Starting to really tire of this weather now.
I work solidly all through autumn and winter sometimes eighteen hours a day (I am a person of extremes) so, come spring, I am in need of rest and relaxation and gardening is my ability to recover from all that exhausting work, but at this rate, I might as well keep working!
Brenda I too am surprised to see Clear blue skies the sun shining on me The odd puff ball, contrails oh so high From passenger jets as they go flying by,
The meat's in the oven I open the door Out into the sunshine vitamin D to store I soak up the sunshine check out the borders Will try to sort out the current disorder,
Sweet peas to go out tomato's to settle Herbs to pot on and bushes to fettle Some back breaking work but also time In a favourite seat soaking up the sunshine.
Has summer arrived I wonder, hope it does for you soon Wintersong.
Yet another morning spent working in the garden in the rain.
I can handle the rain and we do need it, but I just want it to warm up. Looking at the temperature gauge just a few moments ago, it's still to rise above +7 degrees and has been like this for weeks!
I also feel for the few NGS gardens that are open in my area. The rain and cold can't be doing then any favours.
It was very cold through the night dropped down to - 1.9c, around 4am tried to look for the Super Moon but it was to cloudy so went back to bed, this morning totaly different, wonderful sunshine and 15.1c, managed to cut the grass although it was very wet but it needed doing and I needed to know if I could do it also got half the borders turned over but after 2 hours my foot was telling me to rest, must say it is now clody and it's 12.3c and cooling off and the wind is picking up which is good for the washing.
