Cold and dull here, fortunately it didn't rain so the GH got a good clean. The battery has gone on my max/min temp gauge. This is the 2nd one, they only seem to last a year. I can't get the back off to change the battery, it's welded in place Clearly a selling point which works in favour of the manufacturer
Best max-min thermometer I ever had (glass/mercury in wood case edged with brass) must have already been 30 years old when I was given it 30 years ago. It only stopped working when a 70ft ash tree fell on the greenhouse and smashed everything into teeny weeny pieces. I'm just glad I wasn't in it at the time, or they'd still be finding bits of me in the garden like I keep unearthing shards of greenhouse glass!
A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
We have snow and it's coming down fairly thick, wouldn't it be a shame if I can't get the car of the road for work on Monday
Well Bob, that'll teach you not to erect a GH near a tree! Checked out the cost of a replacement Max-Min thermometer - £16.99 in plastic green, not a hint of brass, might be more economical to get a weather station, at least they come with instructions as to how to change the battery
Stockton awoke this morning to nine inches of snow and still falling, it has stopped now and is slowly melting although it looks very much like more on the way. It is cold enough out there to freeze the wheels of your zimmer frame.
