Hello Beaus Mum "oh" and you David, Guy Mitchell and the drifters do go well in this house and a story attached to "She wears red feathers and a huly huly skirt. We were hull down hidden in a forest in Germany bored to tears as normal when all H### broke out behind us, some one had locked the Guy Mitchell song into the Command radio and half a dozen of the lads were dressed up doing the Hula and singing along. Even the CO broke up in tears of laughter, if the Ruskies come now they will join in he said. We had some real mad times and it was needed to liven up the lads and keep them in tune, in tune says he !    I had an accordion another lad a keyboard, several guitars and improvised drums we could really party with the help of some spirits and beer. Life was not all mud plugging.

Joan loved Foster and Allen when she was very ill near the end she would want me to play the discs for her. I was brought up on Irish and Scottish music during the sing along around the sitting room piano after Sunday tea, we always got a large family group arriving, the amazing bit to me was warm nights the big sash window would be open and neighbours out for the evening stroll would be leaning in singing along. All fond memories would it happen now? well yes and does when we have family gatherings, music ties our lot together a bit like super glue.

Today it is music in the kitchen, it is pouring down out there. So Floyd Cramer on piano at the moment "Have I told you lately that I love you" not you David the girls, all of them. A bit of country and western never goes wrong in this house.

Music this morning is wait for it----------Dean Martin--I can hear the gasps of astonishment David but "Kittle old wine drinker me" was my in my cups rendition when each had to do a turn on mess nights. This was usually followed by "The naughty lady of shady lane", even got requests though my voice was more suited to "O sole mio" as I said in our cups anything sounded "err" well OK?

Glorious sunny weather up here int Nor-east, the North sea has retired back out to sea again after some dank dark days. The Ivy is cut back my hedging trimmed and the lawn pristine, not all of it down to Dean though, when the leaf sucker is going you could not hear a bomb burst.
