Dove, Peter Grimes is one of my most favourite operas, how lovely to see it on the beach it must have made it very special But my absolute favourite has to be Fidelio; when the prisoners come out singing, it is so heartbreaking and could be political prisoners nowadays in so many countries.
Wow I'm impressed with this thread today, loving all the songs and yes A Song A Day is a great idea, on this thread or another?
I was thinking of it this morning actually as I drove to Carlisle, James 'Sit Down' was on the radio. I love that song and it reminds me of my student days at Uni, so that is my song for today
The song guaranteed to make me cry is Imagine, for no particular reason other than the words are beautiful and we all know it will never happen but John Lennon and others can live in hope Also, Eva Cassidy's version of Over The Rainbow, we played it at my Nan's funeral and I don't think I will ever listen to it again. There are a couple of others but that will do for now.

Yes, I love Dancing in the Dark, with the video when he gets a young Courtney Cox out of the audience to dance with him on stage.

Must dash now, plants to plant and seeds to sow.
Maybe Bill Withers "Lean on Me" for our Bill in Canada.
Tracey you beat me to it, love John Lennons Imagine.
Todays weather has had me singing Four Seasons in one Day, by Crowded House. I have a horrible feeling tomorrow might be Frosty the Snowman !
