OK, so it takes all sorts ( liquorice are good) to make this t'reet t'queer world of ours, he is not my idea of good. Joan dragged me to see him on stage at the globe Stockton, she like most of the audiance went mad, I was left cold. Saying nothing because I dragged her to a small cinema in Yarm to see films of Opera, later burnt down, I could not prove she did it apart from a Mona Lisa smile when it was mentioned.
Brought up with wall to wall Chick Henderson, Al Bowley and Bing Crosby, my Dad loved them as well as Tauber Gigly and others I was more used to people who sang in tune. "Oh well" I will go back to practicing "Come into the garden Maud" on the piano until the mob arrive to eat all my biscuits and empty the tea caddy.
