  • I ordered from Sarah Raven recently and there is an offer of a free diary worth £12.50 and postage reduced to £2.50 at the moment.  Its on the offers section of this GW site.

  • Re above post - omitted to say that Sarah Raven is another trusted on line site for me.

Another endorsement for Crocus and their customer service from me.

I ordered some dahlias and freesia bulbs for my new cut flower bed and, as they don't send direct to France, had them sent on my SIL with assurances their packaging would mean the plants would be fine for the extra few days.  Unfortunately, the Post Office then refused to send them on.

Crocus have arranged to collect the order and refund me with no quibble and regrets that it didn't work.

Now I shall take my chances with an as yet unknown French supplier and let you know how that goes.

Might have already said this, but Wilko is one of my two favourite places for bulbs so far - the other, in extreme contrast, being Sarah Raven!

Bought these two dicentra spectabilis as bulbs in February for £2 each.

The Alba has been flowering for a couple of weeks now, just waiting for the pink one to catch up!

I just wish I'd put them in bigger pots - they don't like disturbance apparently - but I didn't realise they'd grow so quickly, which is a nice problem to have, I suppose image

those dicentra are lovely, I moved mine just as it was poking it's head up this year, had to pop in a pot for a couple of weeks then out in border in it's new home, didn't realise they didn't like disturboing, oops, oh well, we'll see if it flowers, it looks well enough at the moment!

a local endorsement from me is Handley rose nursery, friendly, helpful, great advice, their roses are inexpensive and healthy, they have ordered bare root roses they don't stock for me too, think I'm going up soon to get 'rose de rescht' I know I can shoe horn it in somewhere....

Is this thread only for good guys? I have had not-so-good experiences with a couple of online shops after visiting their stalls at shows - H a r t s lilies as well as P he as ant acre pl ants. It seems sometimes that Chelsea gold medals don't mean anything in terms of customer service.

Good online experiences with tulip and amaryllis bulbs from J Parkers, tulip bulbs from Peter Nyssen, and peony bare roots Claire Austin (coming up very strong). For bare root roses I used Style Roses, British Roses, and David Austin. Of these 3, Style and David Austin's seem to be growing the best. They came with loads of stems and roots. The bare roots from British Roses came with only 2 stems and are not growing much yet in comparison but having said that I have ordered a potted rose before and it's doing great. I have never planted bare root roses before so am very pleased - as people have advised, they have defintiely taken off better than the potted roses. For local shops I love Wilko, JTF and all my local garden centres.

  • I ordered several kg of bulbs from J. Parkers Wholesale last autumn and am absolutely delighted with the results.

In flower at the moment are 25kg of Narcissus Cheerfulness White and Yellow, 100 Tahiti,  Tulips, 100 Jenny, Stunning blooms, (almost ready to flower) 100 Esperanto 100 Saigon and 100 Tulip Virdiflora Artist  and 100 Slawa, Just going over are the Hyacinth Miss Saigon and Gypsy Queen. It certainly was a lot of bulbs but I shared with my daughter.

I would have no hesitation at all recommending them and will definitely use them again.

    .

Always like (have) to agree with Ladies image I took a risk and bought lots of tulips and daff bulbs from Parkers last year, they have been magnificent so far!

"BUT" their bare root plants that I received in the past were an insult, they should never have been sent out, all were completely dries out, none grew!

Also agree with Wakeshine , Pheasant Acre Plants are the pits, don't answer emails when I am trying to find out if they are actually going to send out corms, don't send what colours  I actually wanted and when they do the season is nearly over, never again from that shower!

Ps not only do I order plants for myself, but also for my own father and father in law, it share and share alike!

    Cheers
