Hi wakeshine, I like Claire Austin for perennials but have never ordered a peony in particular. I believe it is one of the plants she specialises in though so hope all goes well
I may have already posted about them (my memory's not great), but I really like Sarah Raven's online shop.
Yes, they are expensive and there's certain things I'd never buy from there, but I've bought some plants in the sale and they've been lovely, unlike certain suppliers whose plants I would've been embarrassed to give away.
I just bought a blackberry 'Reuben' - half price in the sale and much less than other suppliers for a similar size - and it's in really good nick, hasn't been left to dry out or become pot-bound. Products are always really well packed and their courier is fairly decent in my couple of experiences.
Hello. Can I just say that following Victoria Sponge's suggestion I went ahead and ordered some herbaceous peony bare roots from Claire Austin. And OMMMG they surpassed all expectations! They arrived last week very soon after ordering, well packaged, with good advice leaflet, and each root is absolutely huuugge!! Has she sent me the whole plant?! Feels like it! Not like some tiny dry ones I got from a department store last year - which did sprout but were about a quarter or fifth of the size. Claire Austin - definitely good guy recommendation for peonies. Now all I have to do is plant them... if it ever stops raining.

Thanks Victoria Sponge. I will try her.
Wakeshine....take a look at Binny's plants....they specialise in peonies.
I looked at Binny's plants but couldn't find anywhere to click on selections to buy?
I had plants from them a few months ago and didn't have a problem, Wakeshine.
They do have a superb range of peonies.
I had another look Joyce and was able to see the pot peonies but am looking for bare root...they do have an amazing selection though!
I can't find bare root ones either Wakeshine.
You should get their peony catalogue sent to you.....it's full of temptation!!!
Really! I might have to do that. But have limited myself to two peony bare roots lol.
