Some years ago I worked in a nursing home, the 'Matron'in charge was Scottish, and one her sayings was---You must think I was zipped up the back-- I always thought this was a brilliant thing to say, but always sounded better with her scottish accent
We're not as green as we are cabbage looking
Very true Dove very true
Tap Tap Whirly Whirly Cuckoo ................. does anyone else know that one?
Not heard that before.
Bitten off more than you can chew.
When you're in a hole stop digging.
The bigger they come the harder they fall.
Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.
A good Yorkshire word..Yitten.
