re focus KEF i think this works for all digital cameras
point the camera press the shutter button slightly and hold it, the camera should focus then press right down to take picture (apologies if you already knew this but it might help somebody else)
Thanks Ann. I did know but don't always wait, get a bit giddy when subjects likely to move
The bird shots were taken about 100 feet from feeder, but I do tremble sometimes, especially in a cold wind, and so out of focus is usually due to me.
Must admit I didn't know about slightly pressing shutter until I started reading what the camera could due, and then actually read part of the user manual. That's down to David.
I've never been good at photography and lots of the photos we have prior to digital, people have heads missing or half a body. I've a good memory so recognise them by their clothes.
Being on the forum started me taking plant pics and a kind forker took the time to spell out in "baby" language how to reduce the size of my pictures so they would post & then enlarge. Thanks again Silanno...dubious spelling of her name.
Love this this thread & what I've been taught & encouraged to do. Keeps me out of mischief.
Hi, folks....op over, fit & well again - many thanks for your kind wishes. Unfortunately, the nature of the beast dictates that I need to wear an eye patch for another couple of days & avoid eye strain.....so I'll be limiting my browsing time.
Anyway, congratulations on your recent pics (I'm squinting)......and, KEF, Ann is quite right, press your Coolpix shutter button down until resistance is felt, this focuses your shot before pressing it down fully. If you press down fully, your shots will be out of focus slightly.

David, glad to see ( no pun intended) that you observed my out of focus pics
Just for you.
Great to see you back David,
A few more North Somerset Sunsets to help your recovery and of course for Stargazer who seemed to like the last lot...
However, I'm now not sure if this is a good idea?....
You might need to put your sunglasses on prior to looking!!...
And just in case those sunset strained your eyes here's a snow one to calm you down a bit!!....
(sorry couldn't resist that!)
Wishing you a speedy recovery!...
Best
Higgy
