IF i was to upgrade this camera what would you yourself recommend, don't get me wrong the D3200 is a fine camera image but just thinking of forthcoming holidays etc which the D3200 is more than suitable but IF i was to source an upgrade … … ?

Brumbull - That's an awkward question to answer. Much of it is down to personal tastes and (as you know) there are hundreds & hundreds to choose from.

The Nikon you have is an excellent camera and I would guess do everything you require. As I have said previously, I think both Nikon & Canon make the best cameras and certainly the market leaders.

Probably the Canon EOS 100D would be my choice today....but probably I would change my mind tomorrow.

Btw, my recently acquired Fuji FinePix HS50EXR is my current camera.....a bridge camera I'm thrilled to own.

  • More quality shots from you, fidget.....thanks for sharing.

Best remember, those exhibition sweet peas smell no better than yours.

I just wish mine would keep the longer stems through the season. i start off with tall vases, and end up with egg cups as the stems get shorter.

    thanks Davidimage

Really meant it, Ann.....did you use the rocks to steady your camera?

  • yes i managed to put the camera  on top of a rock, my stick hasnt come yet i do have a small tripod that came with my OH monocular its about a foot high but i hadnt taken it with me. i couldnt remember what shutter spead so started at the slowest but it was over exposed so i just kept going up untill it worked

  • A very good effort, Ann.

When we use really slow shutter speeds like this, as well as a tripod/rock/whatever, it's a good idea to use a remote shutter release device to further prevent camera shake. I've found that using the shutter timer to be just as good.

Ps. It shouldn't have been overexposed in shutter priority mode.
