It's ok Verdun, no need to feel guilty for having all the fine weather today - we're going out - ostensibly to visit the Aged Ps, but an hour is enough for them, they get tired, so we'll have to spend the rest of the day in lovely Adnams pubs eating and drinking - have to support the local economy .......... it's a hard job but someone's got to do it
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Fairy and Verdun - how can you be funny first thing in the morning. My brain is just starting to tick over.
Shame the rain has started already Dove - don't think anyone's safe today but enjoy your visit to parents and lunch. Clari I hope you manage to fill your bags in the dry and if you do make your bread later - think I'll pass
Morning all rain started 06:40 here. Dark skies, thunder and lots of lightning. It's eased off now, but I can hear more thunder in the distance. Got work this afternoon, at least I won't be missing any time in the garden.
I've just spent the last hour trying to find somewhere on the internet that can tell me where the Gulf stream is right now, it's really quite difficult. The way things are at the moment it seems it's probably in the wrong place and we'll have the usual rubbish summer.
My mother is coming this morning to steal more of my plants, at least if it's raining she won't want to stay out too long looking at what she can half-inch...
Thanks KEF. Work is always rubbish but it allows me to pay the mortgage and buy more plants . I am envious of those who can still potter about this morning. Hope you don't get too wet Verdun and Dove...
By the way, got another bargain last night at homebase - a lovely bushy domed marguerite just needs a bit of water and deadheading and a bigger pot - only £2.49 - which may sound a lot but it's quite a large one so I'm very pleased.
