i was expecting my irises to be corms, but they are actually small rhizomes i think:
I will go and loosely pot them up tomorrow before work - and then sort them properly at the weekend. Thanks for all the suggestions. They are ultimately destined for a damp patch at the edge of the stumpery (pics a few weeks back) - hope they will be happy there.
Allium when you click on the arrow next to the smiley on the toolbar, there's a little slidey up and down thingy at the right hand side of the square of smilies - slide it down and you get a few more

Allium, in the box where you write there should be a little smiley face, if you click on it you will see all the others that you can use - lots of different ones Hope you sort it
