We will be having slow cooked shoulder of lamb with rosemary and garlic and roast potatoes, peas, sprouts and carrots. Two of my friends are bringing puds, so I don't have a lot to do really.

    Good morning/afternoon allimage.

Adding my best wishes to everyone feeling below par.  Get well soon.

Lily I wish everyone would repeat their posts as it doesn't always register with me the first timeimageimage.

Lovely morning for a walk here this morning and the birds were singing their little hearts outimage.

Hosta - threadingimage.  Lizzie I'm sure you're a dab hand at automatic threading with your new machine now.  Glad you're enjoying it.  My machine is languishing in the cupboard as I have lost interest since I stopped doing freehand embroidery on it.  I hate sewing hems and buttons - anything practical in factimage.

Pam - Kizzy will get there eventually.  It must be sooo exciting for her to be with so many other dogs.  I took Jekka to puppy socialisation at the vet's and she wouldn't do anything the other pups did - standing on the scales, going through the tunnel, sitting, etc.  She just watched.  Then after most of the others had gone home and the vet nurses were starting to clear the toys up Jekka decided to do everything on her own.

Hope your walk turns out to be better than expected Fairyimage

    Enjoy the weekend everyoneimage

Oooh, haven't had slow-roast shoulder of lamb for ages and ages ... must put it on the menu soon image

I knew I wasn't cut out for this h*sew*k lark - I've just done a Bathroom Blitz - and knocked one of the Moth Orchids off the windowsill and smashed the pot ... that's something else for the Homebase list image

At least it meant I had to do the floor properly too image

  • Morning everyone,

Thanks for the kind words from everyone. I feel very remiss about not being on here much, I have been reading posts but wasn't quite up to posting - sounds ridiculous but I have just been so tired, sounds like Hosta feels the same too, quite bizarre, I am usually so 'whizzy'. image

Today I actually feel a bit more like myself, although I didn't get out of bed until 10am so have only been up an hour and a half so still a long way to go.

Hospital have referred me back to doctor and also want me to go to another hospital in Limoges for a different kind of X-ray. To be honest I think they are making a bit of a fuss and I just want to get through the antibiotics and I'm sure I will be fine then, really don't want to go all the way to Limoges. My face is definitely less swollen now.

Going to visit a friend later, she has two gorgeous little dogs and they love to snuggle up on my lap. image

Will catch up with you all later, have a good day. image

    Morning all.

Glad you're seeing a bit of improvement, DD.  Your body is obviously telling you to get lots of rest... difficult if you're a "whizzy" person I guess.  Take it easy and enjoy the little dogs!  image

Yesterday's visit to Mum went well; she seems quite content, though she's clearly beginning to decline - which shouldn't be a surprise at her advanced age, I suppose.  Her enforced isolation (they STILL haven't come up with a diagnosis on her feet!) has certain advantages; in particular, the staff have been putting CDs on to entertain her - she loves classical music, but of course it's not something they'd want to inflict on all the other residents whose taste is different (though having said that, "golden oldie" music is played pretty constantly, like it or lump it, in the main lounge).  Her speech is now extremely limited, but we listened to some Mozart together during which she smiled and "conducted".  image

Sun's shining and the first snowdrops are opening so I feel some garden tidying coming on...  image
