Liri I hope your Mum is given the all clear soon.  What a shame it's taken so long for resultsimage.

Wonky I hope the promise of your noisiest neighbours moving on comes to fruition very soon.

Back from the walk and I seem to have enough ballast to keep uprightimage.  The rain felt like thousands of needles hitting my face So perhaps I should invest in a balaclava or one of Hosta's snorkel masksimage.  LilyP, thanks for asking, foot is still the same but at least my walking boots give fairly good support.  It's much more comfortable when I'm lying downimage.

H/w, cooking and pouring through seed catalogues is the order of the day.

I hope the Doc manages to find a cure for Pat quickly. Hope Wonky's OH feels better soon.

    That walk sounded painful, Lesley.

More curtains and cushions to make today, love the new machine - it's like driving a BMW instead of a Fiat Panda. My car feels good too, but the repairs were a bit pricey, will have to be extra careful with money for the next 2 months. But the sewing machine came from the money my lovely Mum left. She would be 91 if she were still here.

Back from trip to farm shop - laden with food for the next week.  We have braised oriental-style brisket with noodles tomorrow, a pheasant to pot-roast for Sunday, Monday will be haggis and neeps for me and a pasty made from leftover pheasant and black pudding for OH, Tuesday we'll have sausages, bacon and cabbage cooked together in the slow cooker sort of French 'chou-croute' style, then we have pork chops with fennel, and cauliflower cheese for Thursday and Friday.  That's the week taken care of.  image

Tonight's supper is Cock-a-leekie soup made with the remains of the chicken we had earlier in the week.  image

Heavens Dove, you are very organised. I can do about three days in advance and think I am doing well at that.

i am really into organic chicken just now, find I can get three meals and a fab stock pot from the bird. We have a Fishman who comes every week and we have meat twice a week.

however I wish we had a farm shop nearby, have to go about half an him to get there
