It certainly is rough out there. We've had a bit of excitment already. my son lives next door and he came round to say he'd just put his gardening gloves on and was stung by something inside them. He'd found one of those spiders in the same area a week or ago. (He took a photo at the time and it did look like one of those false widows) So he was a bit concerned but we now think it was a wasp as his arm hasn't fallen off yet Just as he was talking to me there was a huge crash and my chimney cowl came down. A few seconds earlier it would have hit him.
He was putting his gardening gloves on, not to garden, he's not that keen but to help some neighbours whose tree had fallen down. He said after the morning he'd had so far it didn't bode well using the chain saw but luckly we are back hoe wet but safe and sound. He and his faily are going away today to Center Park for Christmas so hopefully nothing else will go wrong.
The weather here is steadily worsening. It is dark, raining heavily and the wind is picking up. One of the big old Beech trees is creaking in a most off putting way.
To make matters worse I have been slogging away on the computer all morning to produce a spread sheet of all the data relating to access to GPs in Sheffield.
Mother and young Black Rhino calf, now a very rare sight in most of Africa. It really gladened my heart to see it and I hope will do the same for you on this horrible day.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
Dark and lashing down here. Traveled 10 miles to nearest big supermarket and have now finished all the shopping - hooray. Just hope we don't all lose electric power over Christmas. Rhinos look so prehistoric Punkdoc.
Just had a call on the intercom from OH in the workshop. Could I come and let him out please. A sign had fallen off the wall and jammed between the door and the car.
