Hello folks I'm home 'Glad you're all ok. The worst bit of my journey was the ring road here in Norwich when I was almost home - a tree on a car - don't think anyone was badly hurt and the police and men with chainsaws were sorting it out by the time I got there.
Lily, maybe the sun over the sea had special resonance for me this morning, after having seen the most amazing sunrise. Pa saw it too, but he saw it over the sea. He said that the whole world was red - he was so chuffed that I saw it too.
I stopped on the way home to watch a murmuration of starlings - they were flying low over the field because of the high winds. I was able to park really close and watch them for quite a while before they just went up into the air then swept down into the reedbeds. I started up the car and drove around the corner and saw them all settling into the reeds
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
I saw ambulances from inland counties parked along the Suffolk coastline waiting to evacuate the infirm elderly if needed. Daughter said that a colleague who lives in Felixstowe had to leave work early and return home as where she lives may be evacuating.

Well, I finally got the curtains dry. Only needed 10 pegs to keep each one on the line. I have rehung them, I'm leaving the other two mucky until the weather improves.
OH has decided the ceilings need another coat. Not this week, I've had enough. I've done the shopping today, I'm stopping in now for the weekend. Like Nut, I'll check for damage tomorrow.
Doesn't seem much damage here from what I could see in the dark when I got home but the new leaf blower I bought is going to be redundant - all the leaves are now in someone else's garden by the looks of it! Had a bit of a fright while walking down at the bottom of the garden though - I heard something scampering off though the undergrowth as I approached. Probably just a cat but it sounded bigger!

Clari, must have been a shock when the ceiling went, glad you're ok!
Am off to Christmas bingo tonight. As I won (twice) last time, OH says it's not my turn
Surely it should ALWAYS be my turn

For once no daftness from me.
Just seen national news so much damage & tragedy north and east of us and more due in the south.
Just want to say hope all stay safe. We can repair our gardens.
Please all take care and my fingers crossed for everyone.
