Lily please do save a huge piece for me. I love Xmas cake and for years made from Scwarttz ? dodgy spelling there... little cookery book. Also love Xmas pud, but gall bladder has taken a dislike ...so it's either cake, or cheese & biscuits..can't do both, so Christmas day it has to be cheese & port.
LBD ..I have black trousers / leggings and baggy tops, so loads of room for Maltesers Don't like to get my legs out unless the sun is shining. Might do in knee length boots...not kinky ones I will add.
Have to go steady at Xmas because I have to get my body out each Feb for jollies...sorry there isn't a frightening face.
Had a lovely afternoon wandering round Wisley - discovered some parts i have never been to before - the meadows behind the glasshouses, the arboretum and the trial fields. Looks like they have just finished a three year trial of phlox paniculata - one of my favourites - will be interesting to see what they have found. Made a special visit to both alpine houses for Woody - had the old one completely to myself apart from a tiny shrew scurrying around - v sweet!
Yesterday dug up and sorted a pile of dirt and compost out for the new tyre planter for the station and took up the station, skateboarded it down the slope , well with some plants and bulbs and all the dirt, cleared the litter away as well
It was a sunny day quite warm it did feel like spring
Here is the tyre before
and here it is all planted up with daffs and tulips and crocus
next door to the one done last year
Sorted all the other tyre planters out, weeded and added nice lot of dirt to make them look better and added some bulbs
Those tyre planters are great - who do you get to cut them like that??
when you talked about tyre planters before i thought you meant that you were making a tower of tyres and planting inside them - your way is far more ingenius
