     Have a lovely day, Chickys.

We are going to supermarket and eating at Wok place, then stacking logs. Man cut a load on Monday. OH got back from UK yesterday, very tired and I didn't feel like log stacking on my own.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

  • Morning all,

Happy Anniversary Chicky's  - 20 years, well done.

Very misty early start but looking much better now, was really hot yesterday whilst planting my bulbs.

Did something really stupid this morning (nothing new there really), got up, got dressed, chivvied son up to get showered and dressed, hassled him over his breakfast to get him to school, raced down to school (trying to get there and back before guests appear - the stress of it all - then arrived at a deserted school and realised an hour too late it was closed today for 'a meeting' ! My own fault, I had the letter but just didn't log it in my brain. image

BL we are spoiled here with the logs, a little man brings them along with his little wife - and I mean that literally not in a 'middle class' way and the pair of them stack them beautifully in our log store. I have offered to help and offered water, tea, coffee and cake, but no they just crack on and do it. They must be about 80 bless them. image

Bekkie good luck with your roses, think you have a bargain there, I am waiting patiently for my DA roses to come and so far everyone I have mentioned them too has taken a sharp intake of breath and wished me the best of luck in that knowing sort of way. image

Going to go out now and clear up my little bed of (dead) annuals surrounding the dahlias. Dahlias are still going strong so poor things might look a bit sad and lonely but can't be worse than being surrounded by dead things - must plan that better next year.

Btw - when I said running yesterday I didn't mean gazelle like, I huff and puff along (way behind the others). I joined to make new friends and improve my French -when I catch them I might just get to learn something! In the meantime the coach has taken it upon himself to 'help' me - a race is apparently just what I need. image

Well sun out now so must crack on.

    Good day all. image

image DD.  I remember those days well but I could remember nothing at the time.  I like the sound of your little log peopleimage.  I'm sure your  DA roses will do well.  In fact Lizziie is almost ready to open a branch in France nowimage.  Btw it doesn't matter how fast you go it's still runningimage

Bekkie what roses did you get as Aldi?  I bought some a few years ago which have done really well - an Iceberg, Queen Elizabeth floribunda and a climber called Handel (I think - well it was a composer). Hope you survive the gym.

    Morning All

I could do with a couple like that DD, am about to put in log order and know we will have to stack, still trying to find a good supplier. Some we bought last year were rubbish

    Congrats the Chickies -

Have been to B&Q in search of pansies and light bulbs - didn't have either so will finish my tea and treat myself to a visit to GC - won't get light bulbs there either

Dismal here but at least no wet stuff so hoping to get my ever increasing pile of plants planted

Still horrible here, but managed to sow some of the seeds that need a cold period to aid germination. They will stay outside over winter.

Tulip bulbs arriving tomorrow which is nice, but not quite as nice as my wine order. Should keep me going until after C#######s, although if weather carries on like this maybe not.

Hope everyone is managing to have a more productive day than me.

  • hello all, still no progress on planting bulbs... too much stuff happening to get in the way. Never mind, it's all in a good cause.

4th Panda... we don't have a facility for you to buy a calendar online but if you PM me with your address I can get one to you. That applies to all you other forkers too. I am afraid that with the postage (ouch) and a special envelope the price increases to £9-50p.

    Have a great day,y'all.
