hi DoveFromAbove I have a piranha plant and it's eating my hydrangeas like quite brutal, do you know if there's a treatment or poison I could use to stop their cruel sport
Oops, I was so eager to post a reply to a question I could answer, that I forgot to introduce myself !
i have small front and back gardens in Essex, so mild climate with a mix of clay and gravel soil. Gradually I've filled the beds with shrubs - evergreen and not, and perennials. I just add seasonal colour with wall baskets and pots, which I plonk in the middle of a bed, using tall containers to add height.
anyway gardening is my passion and I could go on all day.... In fact my main worry is that my posts will be too long, I'm not very good at précis.
I've a front garden and largish town back garden, both been neglected by previous owners so lots of weeds. I've already posted lots and thankful of responses.
I'm also a fellow Suffolk one but currently in East Midlands. Hope you took your passport Dove

Hi Asif - the only known pesticide for piranha plants is obtained from the poison dart frog (details here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poison_dart_frog) .
You have to rub it onto the tips of your arrows and aim carefully.
You can probably make a bow and arrows when you've finished making one of these https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EMp4JKcz5kE

I agree with Dove, that's going to be your only option. Best take care of it while it's still young, and you still have any hydrangeas left.

Welcome to the forum Erics Mum
I don't think you have to introduce yourself although it's nice to hear about new members and their gardens.
I'm intrigued though- why does your front garden amuse the neighbours?
Welcome! It's good to see another East Anglian Eric's Mum
