So delighted that Monty is coming to host GW. Had stopped viewing since Monty left as I felt it was definitely being dumbed down. Looking forward to GW being part of my regular viewing again.
I love Monty and I am very very pleased he is coming back. I quite liked Toby but soon lost interest in watching the programme every week and then at all.
Monty's style is much more my cup of tea and I will be watching avidly every week.
"Pass the remote, time for a channel change". Have you really thought this through BBC? You really think that removing Toby Buckland is a wise move? He's appealed to the broadest viewer base you've probably ever enjoyed, he's down-to-earth ...literally, the contemporary face and voice of the show, the website and the magazine. If our beloved GW is to return to a show for the retired community it's time to look elsewhere for gardening inspiration, energy and a modern view on all things outdoors. Great while it lasted. Bad move - seriously, not futureproof.
Yes, yes, yes - the powers that be have seen sense. Welcome back Monty. Now maybe we can see some REAL gardening and not watch Play School. This has made my Christmas, Thankyou BBC
Brilliant news - it's made my day! I do like Toby and he's definitely come into his own this year now that the format has calmed down a bit. Sorry to see him go but am so pleased Monty is coming back to his rightful home, and Berryfields is so much nicer than Greenacre.
Great to see the 'old' team back. I never took to the new presenter/format- too much flitting between items and little depth to anything. I gave up watching in the end. Roll on March!
Happy to see Monty back but not at the expense of losing Toby. I hope another channel will snap him up and there are other gardeners who would do a better job than Rachel de Thame, who is all looks and not much else. Can we have some real gardening, not just showing us how to empty a pot from the garden centre. Any fool can do that. And forget the 'spontaneous 'chats'. More on growing food for the family, less spent on visiting shows and stately homes and more on gardening for those with small gardens.

A big Hurray from me!

WHY NOT - CAN WE HAVE AN EXPLANATION PLEASE?
After all, we do all contribute to the show ££££££££!
line up!
Can't wait to see Monty's garden after
reading about it's development in The Ivington Diaries.
Found Toby's approach quite patronising
and the whole series looked as though it was set in a Garden Centre.
Rock on Monty!
Toby, Alys and Carol inspired me to get out and plant. The others never did. RdT is dull and Monty too highbrow.
I really hope C4 takes this opportunity to snap up Toby & Alys and compete!
