Brilliant news - back to a proper garden and no silly potting sheds painted all colours. Shall miss Toby though as he had a nice easy manner about him, sadly he never had a proper garden to work in. I never got my head around the design of last years effort. More Carol please - most of us only have very small veg. plots so she must have equal time with Monty. Perhaps a whole new monthly programme for alotment holders with Alys and Joe.
I am so pleased to hear that Monty is returning, sadly not so pleased that Rachel is too, would rather have kept Alys, but at least we still have Joe and Carol. Like many I was just getting used to Toby's style and would have preferred that he was kept on as a secondary presenter.
Absolutely Brilliant I nearly cried when I read the news. Monty and Rachel back, what a great New Years present!! I have been emailing all my friends and family with the news, everyone is thrilled to bits. We will all be switching back on again on Fri evenings for Gardeners World. I'm excited all ready.
Iam so glad the BBC have seen sense and got rid of Toby Buckland, his permanant grin was so false and when he picked up a Fork or Spade he was so clumsy ,i am sorry allse fowler has gone she was down to earth and when you showed her own garden at her home people can relate to it as it is the common size of a normal garden on in a town,i amhappy Carole cline is staying this is a woman with a passion for plant's.
The return of Monty is the best news I have had for weeks. No longer shall we have to endure plants being bought at a garden centre and then simply watching them being planted. I have always said that Monty was the best presenter since Geoff Hamilton, a real genuine gardener.
Fantastic! We've really missed Monty on our screens and on GW in particular! We were disappointed when AT left however Monty very quickly made the show his own. We like Toby, but he never seemed comfortable doing GW and the production was clearly "experimented with" (GW it NOT Top Gear!) which must have made it harder. Good Luck to Monty and the new team. Best wishes to Toby in whatever he does next!
at Monty is returning, all we need now is for Alan to come back then we will have the 4 Muskastiers , Alan Monty Carol and Joe, that would be great because they know what they are talking about. Well done Gardeners World. x
Whilst nobody can question Monty's knowledge and ability he is, without question, a more dour presenter than Toby. I will watch Monty with interest and see if he can maintain a more uplifting presenting performance than in the past. Toby, to his great credit, has taken a blank piece of earth and, with the team, created the beginnings of a new and very interesting garden that we could all learn from. I will miss future developments at Greenacre. I can't help but think that the investment made in greenacre was a terrible waste of money by the BBC. Like may posters I had found Toby to be just beginning to get in his stride and find his own style and I personnaly found him to be a welcome upbeat presenter following Monty's serious and authoritarian style. Toby if you read these comments - how about approaching ITV or C4 to start another gardening programme? It seems to me from reading these blogs that you have plenty of support!
