Yes, I do too @GardenerSuze, we can’t miss seeing the results of all your hard work over the next few months! I’m sure existing GC members would also be interested.
I agree, @GardenerSuze - I'm sure the mods on GC would be delighted if you started your garden thread on there. It's been inspirational for me! Thank you.
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
Thankyou all for your support. I think I may start off as a lurker[not a nice word]. The written word has never been my strong point. My spelling has improved as a result of writing on here and my typing too. With time I have managed to load photos on here the right way up! My family tell me that my grammer is really bad, reminds me of being at school. I have always loved being outside running or playing netball. The only lessons I enjoyed were Biology, the study of worms proved to be fascinating until I dropped my experiment on the classroom floor worms and soil everywhere. The study of fungi was another favourite, especially spore prints.
I have only been picked up on spelling once on here so I have done well Viburnham instead of Viburnum. Yes it is important to get the Latin right and I was pleased it was pointed out. It is the everyday words that often confuse me too.The only posts that have annoyed me related to chemicals and their use in gardens. My favourite posts have always been from those starting out in Gardening, I just hope these people find their way to GC.
I have been priviledged to work in two yellow book gardens and work for a couple that were know nationally for their gardening skills. They were the beginnings of The Plantfinder. Geoff Hamilton and Roy Lancaster filmed for GW in their garden. I then worked for a friend of theirs [all my jobs were word of mouth] that is how I met Monty Don and the GW team. They wanted to film at a large Gardening Club with 250 members we qualified.
The club celebrates thirty years this year. A testament to the skills of the people who have ran it. I was lucky to be asked to put together an archive of all their successes, a diverse gardening community right on my doorstep. I have always been drawn to more creative practical work. My brother is a professional Landscape Photographer. He works with Sue Bishop you may have seen her amazing photos of flowers.. at the Light and Land website.
I will be taking lots of photos over the coming months and I hope to share them with you in the future.
I have worked as a Gardener for 24 years. My latest garden is a new build garden on heavy clay.
When you're ready @GardenerSuze, there's already a good location at GC for continuation of your thread. I have always enjoyed your posts, both content and writing style. Posting photos at GC is also easy, so browse a while (much nicer than lurking!) and then please join us! In the meantime, very best wishes and happy gardening!
This is going to be the survival of the fittest. Salvia Royal Bumble, Calamagrostis Karl Foerster, Rubus Tricolor and Uncinia [this is the one to watch it will probably need to be moved to one of the raised bed] fine for now. They can all fight it out together.
