@WAMS thanks for the heads-up re Jude. I don’t think they can post Austins to the UK though… to be honest, Jude is not entirely to my liking, hence I didn’t buy it before. I really want it just to experience its scent, which is supposed to be amazing…
I’m feeling like giving up on trying to grow roses in my back garden - it’s quite shaded as it is and with this cloudy weather, there are no sun at all for the roses. Hardly anything is blooming here and it’s been like this for weeks now. I feel quite a bit envious seeing everyone’s beautiful flowers.
Boscobel, which I loved last year, is completely defoliated. It looked better in February! Elizabeth doesn’t look like it’ll flower again until September. Dannahue looks like its about to bloom but it had a long break since the end of June/ early July…
@WAMS I noticed that too! How embarassing... I might message them to let them know. Appreciate the recommendations, those two are both on my possibles list! If they dont have P.Lively I will be disappointed and have to order it bare root I guess. Hopefully they have a few at the shop! I can at least compare its colours to others in the gardens but I wanted to choose myself a good potted one whilst there. Unusual for them to totally sell out.
@SalixGold the new ones are all up now, under the new / exclusive section.
Oh that Happy Couple is really nice. @WAMS thank you. Last year I wanted love song and I was too late so I did not want to take any risk . since DA has discontinued so many roses and caused clearly a commotion
And that Cymbeline of @r@Rojas was so impressive I just went for it. For some reason I only buy bare roots . Maybe the surprise effect of not really knowing what it will be in summer ?
And I like planting in November . I hope your camera is quickly fixed . @m@Marlorena
@Imprevu theres a lot to be said for bare roots! I find if I pot them on they establish quickly and I get great plants often at a big discount and cheaper postage, well worth it despite a few losses.
@salo.daria thank you, good to know it was worth it! Looking forward to it.
Styles have released all 42 new roses, some lovely ones. I chose 'happy couple' with its two tone which I can claim is for my anniversary and was an easy pick as I love that combo, second I eventually chose 'garys rose' because of its darker colour and interesting looking edges, but it was a tough call theres some lovely ones. Thornless scented silky smooth looks very interesting too.
