  • @punkdoc I've always wanted to explore the Highlands (furthest I've been is around Aberdeen area) but haven't yet got the chance. South West is where I feel at home though.

@LunarSea - so nice to hear of someone else loves those places too, everyone I speak to replies "Never heard of it!"

Spring will happen when it's supposed ... certainly by April.

If you know the British Isles, you'll know that Spring will happen when it's not supposed.
location: Surrey Hills, England, ex-woodland acidic sand.

I loved my trip to Loch Lomond, Oban, Fort William and Fort Augustus,  my favourite views were the Loch side roads, Loch Ness (have been to the other end before) and Glen Coe in a whiteout!

As for spring I never do anything till after the third weekend in January.  It is a forgone conclusion that it will be bad weather, as its the only weekend that we have something on every year! Rain, hail, sleet, snow, fog, thunderstorm,  winds, ice, have been the weather we hit every year, so nothing gets its trim till after then.🫣🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️

As predicted the weather took a turn for the worse. Even February has been colder than usual! So into March and now we have flooding, in a village that has not flooded for the six years we have been here. So still waiting to do most jobs.🤷‍♀️

Spotted the first open bluebell flower in the local woods.
