I think probably if enough people click the flag button and report a post, it disappears automatically for moderation, the same as spam flagging (although that doesn't always work properly). I'd be surprised if the mods read every post on here as they happen - just not practicable. I guess if the flagged post were deemed to be OK by the mods, it would then reappear.

Five years ago and more the mods were regular figures on the threads. They would comment and add and update. I've not seen that kind of visually obvious involvement for years.
  • That was when the forum had recently been totally re-vamped @Fire :)  ... there was a member of staff (Nora) whose role it was to oversee the re-vamp and deal with glitches, confusions etc and teach us how to use it ... however it was never a permanent role ... Daniel Haynes explained some time ago that from then on the forum would be moderated with 'a light touch', but that breaches of the T&Cs would be dealt with.

I've found that square bins that you can take the whole front out of are much easier when it comes to turning and emptying than the ones that just have a little hatch. Sadly I can't find ones like my original two any more - they have four identical sides that slot (not clip) into each other so it's easy to take the front panel out made of dark brown plastic about 1cm thick so nice and solid and unobtrusive looking, only a few small air holes in them.
Not sur if these are anything like what you refer to:

  • The bigger the bin you can have the better @hiacedrifter mind in your circumstance you could try smaller bins then as you turn the bins you can fill on top with fresh stuff before the next turn.

Difficult for me to advice you as I compost on a very big scale and it works very differently to smaller scale composting.

An update on my freshly filled bins, this morning steam was very visible emerging through the layer of cardboard and the temperature was up to 78°c

I jest @Wilderbeast It's very impressive - especially as you built your own systems and grow so much food. Spread the love!

I'm running a composting workshop on Sunday for neighbours. Trying to spread the love.

Not really - they're the brown ones in this pic ('scuse mess!). The whole front panel (or any other) can be pulled upwards and lifted out. They do tend to pop out under pressure hence the straps. Those thermo-king bins look good but they are beyond my budget.
