The worms will ship out with such high temps, they will then suddenly appear again when they head back down to say 30°. I get handfuls of them in mine at that stage. They especially like the mix which contains lots of cardboard, lots of people say this but I've no idea what they find so good
In my experience brandling (compost) worms adore glue. If you put in a paperback book, you will find it a writhing mass of worms getting high. With cardboard it's probably the glue they are after.
It looks like I shan't get round to using all my 'made' compost this autumn, some of it not until the spring. Currently it is uncovered and we have had torrential rain recently. I guess I should have covered it before now? Should I do so now, or wait, hoping it may dry out a bit? (More rain forecast)

Glue sniffing worms,
who'd a thunk it?
Constant rain will wash the nutrients out and into the soil (or even a watercourse) which isn't what you want.
