John Grisham writes his book characters based on the actors he wants to play them in the film. The one that Julia Roberts was in, can't remember which one it was (they all merge into one) - he obviously wrote it as her.

@Nanny Beach - it would have been impossible to get tickets anyway!

I’m a big Jack Reacher fan, and coincidentally, also see him as a more muscled, younger version of Lee Child. I do mentally dilute the muscle descriptions when I read the books, not being madly keen on the heavyweight strongman look!
I was quite happy with Tom Cruise in the role, as I like him in films, and I thought both the Jack Reacher films were well made.
Really struggled with the Vera tv series though, she didn’t look anything like that in the books...
  • nothing worse than paying £60 for a couple of tickets to the theatre and the cast are in rubbish costumes.my sister took her American husband to Stratford to watch a Shakespeare play and they did it in their underwear.i know directors get fed up with doing the same plays but think of the audience first

I remember going to see swan lake mostly danced by men. I was a little disappointed that it wasn’t the traditional version until about 2 minutes in.... it was fantastic.

I once saw a production of Macbeth where clothing of any sort was noticeable by its absence.

Was that the Mathew Bourne production?
I've seen it ,and the Bolshoi do the "traditional" version. Both very different but both sensational.
