I got RMG in Feb 2020 and that’s the first bloom ever, ‘definately’ worth waiting for. If anyone missed @owd potter’s references, better watch out, else the chis might grass you up to AC12 😆

I’m partial to the occasional extravagant bloom, but Pure Poetry is a Tantau too far for me, even if it gets better later on it may not be a keeper. Soul and Heidi Klum are stars though, you win some, you lose some..

I didn’t know you couldn’t notch a leggy shrub rose @Marlorena, just as well I didn’t get around to doing The Prince. Although that has ambitions to be a climber.

@owd potter afraid that went straight over my head, you might have to explain! Only H i can think of is that chap from steps ;)
Im actually nottingham way but not from there originally, east mids is a bit of a large area hehe.

My pheno geno arrived, looks wonderful quality as I would expect from trevor whites and has several buds already.

My gw mag just landed.. with 20% off harkness roses, the day after I ordered. Doh! Anyone else tempted by them check the mag first ;)

@Tack look forward to seeing it open fully, certainly pretty.

@Marlorena thank you. Several friends have had similar reactions so half expected. Day in bed with GW magazine i think! Fab youve had second now, must be a relief.

Ahha @JessicaS, It's rumoured there was someone in the country who hadn't watched Line of Duty...
The search for H is a long plot line through all 6 series. Much of it is set in east mids, and filmed in Nottingham & Derby.
If you haven't seen it, get it on catch up, very excellent TV.
Anyway, excuse my digression, as you were rose people...

    I was lost as well!
I'm jolly glad you mentioned that notching was only done on climbing roses @Marlorena, I was all set to having a go on my Eglantyne tomorrow! oops. I did wonder why it doesn't work for all roses?
