My best tomatoes this year were self-seeders. Probably from supermarket tomatoes. I've been chucking the odd tomato ,from whatever source, about the garden. Whatever survives won't be a prima donna. I don't think I'll be bothering with nurtured tomato seedlings next year. From January 2021 it's likely to be the survival of the fittest ( I'm not talking Covid). Why should tomatoes be any different?
I do hate it when the usually sensible media start describing criminals' houses as things like 'flat of horrors'. Swords hung on the wall, tanks of reptiles, an entomology display If you pay to see it then it's an educational day out for the family but in a house the owner is clearly a psychopath. It's the same when the police raid a house and seize 'a number of knives' then show a photo that looks like they've raided their kitchen cutlery drawer. Poor drug dealer can't even enjoy a slice of toast while they forensically examine all his butter knives for traces of margarine (another sign of being a psychopath probably). I blame the Daily Mail...
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
When I did social work I was made aware by my manager of a  perceived correlation between ‘mental health issues’ and ‘the keeping of reptiles as pets’.Â
I pointed out that the majority of these folk lived on their own in in tiny flats ... give them a home with a garden and they’d probably get a dog and take it out for walks and get exercise and meet people and have much more resilience when it came to depression and anxiety.Â

No - no matter what you called him he would have been a psychopath...well, maybe not - I suppose it's a bit of a stretch to imagine a Dominic as a baby eating psycho. Did he have big pointy teeth though?
I have a corn snake called Petrouchka. He actually belongs to my daughter though as he was bought for her when she was nine. She's now 34 and hasn't lived here for 18 years. We're waiting for the snake to be nor more so that we can get rid of the vivarium and redecorate the dining room but apparently corn snakes live forever...
