Sorry to say @floralies but you just did it for him.
His post is gone, as happens when it's flagged 5 times.
Just flag and leave it, so we don't have these pointless posts spoiling a good thread ( as I know mine is also doing, but just wanted to point out that comments to spammers are not necessary.)
    Kindly meant.

@floralies - yes, better to keep the thread clear. Just flag it and it will disappear quietly

It's been a great year for poppies on the plot - because of periods of intense rain through the summer - so much germinated. Californian, Welsh, Icelandic, opium. It's a bit too dry for the Welsh to do very well, but they keep on keeping on.

The basic plants are now well established and seem to be able to get through anything - -10oC to +42. Planted into sand. Full sun. No watering after the first period.

    Sedum
    Jupiters Beard
    Verbena bon
    Alchemila
    Erigeron Ka.
    Rozanne

These are repeated across the plot. All put in on the first day and are doing well. The idea is 10 mins maintenance a week; very little weeding.

Those poppies are stunning. As we drift into the fag end of summer, it's wonderful to be reminded of those intense colours and silky petals.

My neighbour on the street is a total newbie to growing. She put in some seeds and few plants in the spring and it's been a wonderful success and is still going strong - into nearly-Nov. It's a south facing planter and lights up the whole street. The little kids love it.

We've got a load of seeds and bulbs to put in this week coming and it's exciting to see what will come with so much sun and tlc.

The oesteospermum have been incredible, they have not stopped (regular deadheading).

This fills the pavement is strong honey scent and shows no sign of slowing down.

    petunia, linaria

    More fairy gardens appear regularly.

  • That is looking lovely, @Fire. Do you grow many osteospermum? One of those plants I would like to grow.

I haven't grown oesteo for years. This was the first year for my neighbour (pictured) and she is amazed. Into nearly-Nov they are covered in buds.
