Totally agree @Kili though I manage to refrain from intervening as I do with the non conventional use of less/fewer and number/amount. Another irritating Americanism is writing anyways rather than anyway.

Any why do people overuse myself/yourself instead of the simpler me/you? It’s an epidemic.

I suspect many, many teachers were not taught formal grammar and couldn’t even pronounce let alone identify synecdoche or litotes. Indeed I should think many of us learned more grammar from our French or Latin lessons than from our English ones. However I do remember learning to parse sentences and knowing what a noun clause in apposition is has served me really well in life!
lol.. Ben Cotto, being born at the bottom rung of societies ladder my Latin lessons (at what could only be described as borstal rather than a school) were somewhat limited as in non existent.
I was great at French Bingo though as we had that every lesson with our Teacher Basher Bowden. It was great fun but we learnt squat about French other then how to play bingo and shout MAISON.
But, I did learn an awful lot about survival of the fittest growing up at my 'School'. Did me in good stead for later life.

@BenCotto - the interrogative is a different kettle of fish!

American English still hasn't grasped the difference between bring and take after more than 250 years!

I think it's fascinating to see how very young children absorb the basic rules of grammar rather than learning the individual words. They only come unstuck with the irregular verbs, much like adult learners of English.

There is no reason why the Americans should use the same version of English as we do.
The Brazilians don't speak identical Portuguese as people in Portugal.

I know and they have all those different European language influences in the mix to affect structure and spelling but one young thing in Texas once told me my accent was cute!  Had to tell her she was the one with the accent and I will always defend British  English.

English English is just one variety of many.
There are also many varieties of English English.

There is no British English as such.

    ..but isn't 'spec' pronounced 'spe(c)k'?
Working in IT, I don't think I've ever heard anyone pronounce 'spec' with a soft c.
Back in the 60/70s architects and builders said spec with a soft c ... made sense 😊

I was taught ‘shall will will shall will will’ as you decline the verb

    I shall
    you (singular) will
    he she or it will
    we shall
    you (plural) will
    they will
