As she is on the extremely vulnerable list and therefore entitled to do so, my wife applied for the free vitamin D tablets. That was over five weeks ago but she has heard nothing since. Has anyone received theirs?

I expect it will be a race to see if the vitamins or summer arrives first.

'...But if people don’t want to risk catching it and they have their vaccination, apart from people with the egg allergy who will have to take extra care,  I can’t see a problem....'

I think we're talking different timeframes. I have no issue with the safety of schools once everyone is vaccinated - I wouldn't argue over the Gov's Christmas '...mix...' stance had everyone been vaccinated either.
The issue I was talking about was the gov's apparent (to me anyway) disingenuity (if there is such a word) over their Christmas '...mix with other households..' and their ongoing '...schools are safe...' messages. Those messages are historic and current, so the vaccination implementation had little or no bearing on those messages.

I joined the covid/vit D trial back in September, with Queen Marys' Hospital London, I was already taking them, you can get them anywhere they aren't expensive, all the supermarkets have them and pharmacies

I have found the Vit D difficult to obtain from supermarkets - they have been out of stock for months.

We’ve been taking Vit D since midsummer ... as has Wonky, her Lovely Hub and her brother. Easily available from various sources online 👍

  • I can't remember all the details off the top of my head, but be aware not all Vit.D  preparations are as effective as some others. You need to get the right ones.

Listening to Radio 4 yesterday (05/01/21) neither the Oxford or Pfizer
vaccines use egg in there Covid vaccines according to the Doctor advising callers to the program which was about the vaccination process.

  • Thanks @punkdoc I didn't want to go the wrong way.  I believe  that some of the cheaper ones are mostly D2.

We're taking Vitabiotics D3,bought from Morrisons @Allotment Boy . They seemed to have stocked up on them last time we were there so maybe they're available online?

Talking of online, had a text from middle daughter this morning, online teaching has begun. In her words 'Lockdown? What ******* lockdown?' Apparently there are 340 children out of 600 attending the primary school where my grandchildren should be going, including three children being sent by a stay at home mother who feels that her children 'need some normality'. Don't they all?
