And lookee here... was about to weed these out but then something about the leaf said "Echinacea" to me and sure enough they're Echinacea pallida seedlings.

Good idea Will, are they a bit small to separate yet?
@AnniD. If they’re last year’s seeds they’ll be ok, don’t know about any older though, but for the sake of a seed tray or little pot of compost, it’s worth a try.

Some of them had their second leaves, Lyn, I didn't realise there was a mass of them under the surface, growing directly from the flower head. Would you have potted the whole thing up? I think I would be better off crushing the seed head up a bit before burying it next time....

@Lyn I have moved house I think twice since I shared the astrantia seeds. Sadly the soil here is very fine and Astrantias don’t do so well. Yours look gorgeous as do all your beautiful borders. Gorgeous photos. Love to you and your family xx
@Beaus Mum. Thank you, I’ve got them in every colour, whites are nice as well but smaller plants. love to you and yours too.x
@BloodyNora. No not too close, they look nice crammed in, but maybe thin out next year, lovey now though. did you grow any from seeds?
@WillDB. I couldn’t advise, I’ve never done that, but I think now they’re up, you may as well try to separate them. Hope they’ll be ok. I must try that in future, looks good.
