Afternoon. Well the best laid plans eh?!

You'll remember my smug little post about drinking tea in bed while OH was going to sort out the car? Well just as I pressed 'Post' he walked into the bedroom "Is it too late to change my mind? " 🤬. What could I say? - it's my car after all.

So mad dash to get dressed (no shower - eewwh) to be at the garage for 8:45. Then a hasty shopping list and SM run then back home where we decided to make a start on the 60+metres of hedge which runs down the side and front of the garden. We'd only done a quarter of it before the battery was ready for recharging and I've filled 4 big builders sacks ready for the tip with hedge trimmings.

Phone call from garage to say the car failed the MOT because the rear tyres had tiny cuts in them down to the metal core. Still loads of tread left but if water gets in and rusts the metal the tyres are unsafe. So that's 2 new 4x4 tyres we've to pay for - and they're not cheap.🤬

Workshop guy reckons the cuts could have been caused by potholes or driving over shingle. No explanation why there aren't similar cuts to the front tyres then

's'mystery - but I'm just glad we don't have to buy four...

Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down

Lily how lovely it won't be too long before you have an addition to the family.  Thank you Runny.  Just finished the ironing and make a cup of tea and put a chair out and it starts raining.  Put the chair away put my cup of tea in the sitting room and bright sunshine.  I may try again.   Chive hope you enjoyed your day with mum and your sister.  Hazel enjoy your trip to IKEA and have some lunch tomorrow.  The only thing is I end up walking round in circles looking for the exit.  I've been c******g today.  I have to do it in stages then take a break.   I've sorted out some rubbish.  I brought Alfie round in his wheeler for a trip to Rubees, and he stayed just short of an hour.  There were a few hisses from Alfie and the other cats just watched him in their domain.  He settled down in the cat barrel for a while and went upstairs to see what was going on with the other cats.  I took Alfie home and made a fuss of him and then cleaned the sink and the toilet in the bathroom.   Well LBs with her bestie so the colonel is off duty and may have been breakfast, with soldiers of course.  The sun was short lived.  Time for tea.

Lants, I saw those faces in the beans too before I saw the one at the bottom. Didn't mention it before in case it was just me. I can remember my mum having some tiles in her kitchen, I could see chicks in the pattern. Was never any good at those magic eye pictures or whatever they were called.
Thank you Rebecca,  a new addition will be lovely for us all after this awful year. 🤗😍😍
There's someone else expecting a grandchild soon too......sorry I've forgotten who it is, really sorry.
Hazel, glad you're mum is well x

Afties all. Kitty, love your Sungold tomato - why didn't mine look like that I wonder? I reckon I got sold a duff packet. I looked forward so much to eating that tomato - suffice it to say it was underwhelming in the flavour department! Hey ho.
    Happy birthday to Tilly.

Ruby - get the cats to scratch your back for you
T'Bird - the best laid plans etc. etc. My car is due a service and MOT this month. Fingers crossed here.
