Thanks Fairygirl , I appreciate the comment .
Just thought of another 'contender' smothering vast areas of our landscape ...Bracken (Pteridium aquilinum) .
This is a major threat too ; spores are apparently carcinogenic ......nice !

Ah yes , Hyoscyamus niger or Henbane ; used to have this and recall it as being biennial??
Scopolia carniolica is close to this , with similar properties I believe .
@Paul B3  😊 Henbane used to pop up as and when in a previous garden ... didn’t really keep track except to say ‘oh goodness it’s appeared over there now!’ etc. Don’t know Scopolia carniolica but googling reveals a strangely beautiful flower ... it also alleges its uses are ‘folk medicine and criminal poisoning’ 🤔

OH just said that Henbane and Lords & Ladies sounds like prog rock bands whose members are now carpet salesmen in Thames Ditton 🙃

My Scopolia flowers every year but never sets seed (?) ; guess it's only a matter of time before the plant expires .
Recall getting this (and the Atropa) as seed from a specialist medicinal and herbal nursery somewhere near Nottingham many years ago .
Long since defunct I believe now ! :(

The scopolia looks the sort of thing that’d strike happily from cuttings in a jam jar of water ... have you ever tried it? ... perhaps not on the kitchen windowsill tho? 😱

Maybe I'll give that a try before I lose it altogether !

Oh my @Lyn how you've calmed down out of a sudden.

Don't take notice of some awful behaviour @dave56armstrong on this thread...there are some OK people you can ask questions without being judged instantly on this forum. But you'll have to find them past the petty keyboard warriors. Take this thread as your baptism of fire and don't be put off  :)
@lyn is not a nice person with the way she speaks to people which is a real shame as she seemed nice at first 😢 water off a ducks back

Hell.......after reading this thread I shudder with nervous anticipation to the responses I'll probably receive upon informing you all that I have a large patch of Deadly Nightshade (Atropa bella-donna) at the end of my garden in the fernery .
Not to everyones taste (excuse the pun) ; I just like the flowers and the plants historical connections . A good 'bee-plant' too !
We live in a child-free zone so poses no threat ; it is non-invasive so doesn't threaten other plants by smothering them out .
Have been battling Mares Tail for most of the day ; think I prefer that to JKW !
One would have to be retarded to contemplate growing that . :o

Would all female members of this forum please accept my heartfelt apology on behalf of the male members ; most of us have a modicum of decency and respect to others , thus preventing the posting of insulting comments .

Since I have contemplated growing JK, though first seeking a bit of advice, being inferred to be retarded seems  insulting.

I don't think that you have been the cause of trouble , on this thread.
There is a certain Brummie, who in his short time with us, has managed to offend almost everyone.
Misogynism  and animal cruelty being just two of his regular crimes.

As a Brummie born and bred can I assure forum members that most of us are perfectly nice people. Silly I know but I feel slightly embarrassed by the posts of a certain member.
