A cuppa in the bath would go down a treat right now... o:)

Don't forget some good chocolate!   For after, not in the bath of course.

I always had a glass of sparkling wine, too poor for champagne. Only after the home births obviously

When I had Possum, I got a continental breakfast, a decent lunch including a bottle of beer to build up mothers but the most awful "tea".  They seemed to think a couple of slices of white bread and a bit of cheese or jam was enough.

OH had strict instructions to bring fruit and pizza or a decent sandwhich on real bread when he came to see us - 10 days bed rest in Belgium when you have a caesarian so food parcels were essential.   I got out after 8.

Going back to rescue plants. The plant below on the right belongs to my parents. The one on the left is a cutting I took of it about 18 months ago. I showed them my plant and they've now leant me theirs to get it to look the same. :|  It's already throwing out lots of new shoots though and I haven't even got around to repotting it yet.

What's the secret?  I really like those but can't get them to grow here and, when I do find another to try, they're expensive.

I find them to be fairly undemanding, although I've seen worse specimens growing in tropical houses at zoos. It lives on a north-facing window sill in the hallway where it's not near any radiators. I keep the soil fairly moist all the time. They can dry out without much harm but I think that's what's stunting the growth on my parents' one as it gets forgotten about too often. Other than that it gets rain water and a dash of Baby Bio while it's growing and it makes so many leaves that I can keep chopping off any with brown edges. It's a ctenanthe burle-marxii if anyone is interested.
The poorly one seems to be sweating salts since I've had it so it might be their tap water hasn't been good for it either.

I was in my greenhouse this am, it was raining quite hard. I heard the distinct tones of a leaf blower start up in a near neighbouring garden, & then sure enough a lawnmower followed. I know these guys have to earn a living but really mowing in this weather, it will just rip the grass out!
