Dark -ish window sill. Overlooked so semi-opaque glass. no sun at all. Orchid heaven, apparently.

    In London. Keen but lazy.

I can give it a north facing windowsill or a south facing spot with diffused light and no direct rays when the sun is high.......

I'd try north first but I am absolutely no kind of expert!
The last time it flowered, I'd put it up on a wardrobe out of the way of the builders and forgotten about it.

One never really realises how close to disaster life can be until the dishwasher stops working :#

Turns out she'd just pressed the timer button by accident but heart rates were high for a few minutes there.

    I know the feeling.

The one we took to Belgium in 1991 chose to die and flood the kitchen just before a family with 3 boys arrived for a week's stay - during the annual building workers' 2 weeks holiday period in July which, it seems, includes domestic appliance engineers.

It's worse now - they get 3 weeks in July and 2 at Xmas!

First world problems I know but with a week until the baby is due we could do without any dramas.

Have you got your emergency midwife kit all ready? Petrol in the car? Valium?

Yep all ready to go. We were caught out on a few things when the last one turned up early so lesson learned. Hopefully we won't have to deal with rehoming a ferret this time though.

Kettle for hot water ... another for cups of tea ... lots of fluffy towels, scissors and clothes peg ...
