    Advert on freecycle today:
"Hi in need of a generator to run power tools, for creating a sensory garden at St David's Hospice"

Possibly could have been worded better...

We moved to the 4.5 tog duvet a few weeks ago.Ā  Ā Possum, here for a 2 week break, has asked to have the 9 tog back on her bed and we've had the CH back on for warmth downstairs in the evenings.

If I'd thought buying a seep hose or even a new hose would break a drought I'd have bought them 2 years ago instead of trying rain dances.Ā  Ā As it is, my newest hosepipe is proving very useful now that we have a working outside tap on the terrace.Ā  Much easier for watering all the pots there for the "summer".

Just back from 2 weeks in Crete.Ā  Peonies smashed, all weeds seem to have turned into Triffids, it's freezing and p'ing down with rain so I can't get the grass cut.Ā  What can I possibly have to feel curmudgeonly about?

To be fair our gardens are the same and we didn't get the 2 weeks in Crete. :p

Pheasants are only in season 1 0ct to 31 JanĀ

    Ā
Exactly Dove and if Mr Pheasant is still around on Oct 1st I'll be asking my grandson to pop round with his gun and we'll share pheasant casserole.

Back in the days when l used to have holidays, we'd come back to the neighbours saying "Oh, you should have stayed here, it's been absolutely beautiful".Ā  I could tell by the state of the garden that they were telling the truth. Over the last few years l have noticed that around the time we used to go away, the weather has been rubbish.Ā
Hope you had a good time though @KT53

Pheasants are only in season 1 0ct to 31 Jan Shooting them at any other time you’re liable to a hefty fine or, in some cases, imprisonment.

    Ā
I think you're ok to take them on in hand to hand combat out of season though.

We had a great time thanks.Ā  I do notice that sympathy for my situation seems to be thin on the ground.Ā  Can't understand why. :D

We have the summer duvet on (suits me, l get too warm otherwise) and at the weekend l got out my "summer wardrobe" which over the years has condensed into one suitcase. I always keep one jumper out just in case. Needless to say have been living in it for the last few days (the jumper that is, not the suitcase).Ā
@KT53 l have the greatest sympathy for your situationĀ  B)
