    Why not address people, including men, as Sheilaghs?
    I don't love it either, but I would love a new all-embracing greeting: Hi Sheilaghs!!  <3 Or even Sheilas- or any other spelling version one might choose!

    It’s not really that I object, as a female, to being called a guy ... it’s the term ‘hi guys’ and all it denotes about the speaker ... it grates in my ears even when used to address men 🙄 

    Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
