  • I wanted to try growing mophead hydrangeas from cutting but dont have a hydrangea. Id love a few stems if anyone is cutting theirs. Or does that sound like a bad idea, would it dry out? And the garden centres dont have any left.

I’ll send you some, they won’t dry out.

Hi everyone, you only get cheap and cheerful from me, all home-grown, hardy and easy to grow.

I currently have marigold Calendula officinalis, foxglove Digitalis, don't know species, but it has a pinky-lilac flower and my plants are four years old so it seems perennial, bronze fennel Foeniculum vulgare "atropurpureum", and Welsh poppy Meconopsis cambrica.

In a few days' time I will be collecting double pink poppy Papaver somniferum and snapdragon Antirrhinum in several single colours or a mixture.
