Beautiful, isn't it @chicky As soon as I got back from my visit I order two lots of those Iris ensata Rose Queen. It's exactly my type of garden, can't believe I haven't visited it before.
@fire .....have been to both Dixter and Sissinghurst ......both lovely, but both much larger. Wollerton Old Hall is quite small in comparison, and so feels more intimate. Also probably helped by the time we visited - end of June and a sunny day .....can’t get much better than that 👍🏻
IMO Dixter is a “man’s” garden, whilst Sissinghurst is more “lady”. Can’t put my finger on why, but I got exactly the same feeling at Hidcote(manly) and Kiftsgate (womanly). Thats probably not PC, but it was the feeling I got 🤔
Fab photos Chicky. I really liked the DA ones and WOH which is much better, for me, than Sissinghurst which I found disappointing and Great Dixter which I liked.
I shall have another look when I'm oop north as internet is so slow here the pics jumped about a bit. Thanks for taking the time to post so many for us to enjoy.

And all the better for perfect weather and no crowds.
