    Very misty at 8am. Sun burnt through the clouds and we had blue skies and sunshine until around 11.30.
    High cloud now coming over, but still very warm - 29.3 degrees at midday. Glos.

    It's a lot cooler today (thank goodness!).  There's rain forecast for this afternoon but the timing keeps changing so I'll believe it when I see it.
    Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained

    Another cool mostly overcast day here - thank goodness for cooling sea breezes, fog and thunder for the past few days whilst most of you have been sweltering in such high temperatures - sure we have had our fair share of sunshine too recently, although the grass is green and not brown as in previous summers.

    Had a cuppa in the sun this morning but it’s clouded over now, set to stay for the day.

    Ooh it feels so cold here today, 17 deg after our highs of 33 before the weekend. It takes some getting used to after the hot summer.
