    Massive thunderstorm and very heavy rain yesterday evening. Sunny and clear today - love the fresh feeling and grassy smell after rain.

    Woken at 4am by the loudest thunder - I seriously thought there had been an explosion as car alarms went of too. It looks calm this morning but more thundery rain is forecast.

    Rain last night, no thunder but plenty of wind brewing up here.  So far we have had a reasonably sunny day, and we have spent a few hours staking plants, retying and securing.  Too rough to swim at the beach and ferry boats cancelled too although the Cruise Ship Queen Elizabeth was in our waters earlier today.
